Number Two (the administrator) turnarounds

Here we go, continuing the parade of stars.  Sherlock Jr. (No. 2) turnarounds by Rachel Wells.

And now, the head in close up.  Also by Rachel.

A little bit of David Niven, a bit of Hefner and a bit of Holmes himself. Huzzah!

Share and enjoy.

I was going for Sherlock II being handsome enough to fit in with the family, and stylish/clotheshorse enough to give a hint as to where Edgar II gets it from. He wears Boss / Armani etc. The pocketwatch is a real, working antique. The pipe is an affectation – he quit smoking when Edgar II was born. At least that’s my take on it.

I like it! He just looks a little older than 50 in these drawings. So i’ll de-age him in mine.

Yeah, I had the idea that he was 50-60, and drew him at the older edge of that range, mostly because we’re talking about his dad being 92. He might be just a little beleaguered from always being surrounded by people smarter than himself (although in most rooms NOT at Holmes HQ he’d be the smartest one there) and a little careworn because as much as he has total faith in the abilities of Edgar and Trey, at some level he’s still a dad sending his kids out on dangerous missions.

To de-age him, I’d lose the upper horizontal line on his forehead and the outer lines on his cheeks, and one at the corners of his eyes. The vertical lines between his brows stay though. Those started showing up when he was barely out of his 30s. (Because they make his nose look longer.)

Love the David Niven feel. He realy does feel like he once was a man of action and is still capable of surprising a thug or two. I also like the idea that he’s smartest man in any room not actually at Holmes HQ. Hilarious.

I’ve Photoshopped out some of the lines to make him look a little younger
